In my non-multisite install, I was using TimThumb for Media Grid, for some reason it worked better than Easy WP Thumbs. But, under sub-domain multisite WP, the opposite turned out to be true – it works better with Easy WP Thumbs. It also seems to run a lot faster, which is super cool!
Everything else seems to be running OK on my main site, I’ll have to experiment some more with the ones I’ve set up under the sub-domains, but I do believe I can install this option with confidence now, should anyone request it.
The benefit of multisite WP is that one does not need to maintain several different installs of WP, along with the themes and plugins therein, in order to have multiple separate blogs, all looking different from the others. One install, one batch of themes and plugins to maintain. One could have three or four different blogs running, each with a different theme and using different plugins, or use all of the same ones. Neat, eh?
I think I’ll be using it myself whenever I have more than one client with a WordPress package. It sure beats having to create multiple installations of WP and then either deleting them later or having to maintain them separately from my main site here.
