Another year has come and gone. It seems like they’re just zipping by as of late. My daughter will be nine in four days.
It’s been quiet around here. I changed jobs at the company I work for last March, and I started getting back into watercolor painting and other types of art, including trying acrylics for the first time.
WP has upgraded several times, and since I haven’t been using it to post very much, I didn’t notice until now that they quietly hid or got rid of the shortcut box to the smilies. Granted a lot of folks have probably outgrown using them in a blog, but they can be useful from time to time. I’m sure there are plenty of plugins that can be used to add it back if I really want to, but for now I’ll just keep to the few I know which characters to use to make them.
My plans for this year are to try to market myself a bit more, to try to pick up some more web design business. And also do more art. I still have to set up my webpage for that, but for now I’ve been using my Facebook and Instagram pages for updates to what I’m working on. Check them out and follow me if you’re interested in keeping up with my work.
Also in the works for this year, is a price raise, which I originally had planned to institute at the beginning of the month, but I’m going to postpone that until the end of this month instead. So beginning February 1st, I’ll be raising my prices for each package I offer. It won’t be by leaps and bounds, for instance I won’t double it or anything, but it will go up. So if you want to lock in a design at the current prices and save a little money, contact me before January is over. My hourly rate will also go up for incidental work.
That’s all for now. Have a great new year!
