It’s now 2018. My daughter will be 12 this month. Wow.
I’m still working full time at a Big Telecommunications Company, which was recently consumed by an Even Bigger Telecommunications Company. Who even more recently decided they had bitten off more than they could chew and they can’t afford to give everyone raises this year. That makes this the third year in a row without a raise. Fun, right?
*Looks around, blows the dust off the shelf* *cough* I haven’t exactly been prolific here over in this blog. It’s funny too, because I used to write, a LOT, in some of my older blogs. But I also used to do a lot of that writing while I was at work, and I don’t do that anymore.
Business has been slow (non-existent?), but I really haven’t been putting the effort into that I should. I need to work on that.
Maybe sometime this year I’ll get around to updating the look of this place like I wanted to before. Maybe. Ha.
Let’s see, what else is going on… I’m quitting as a customer with Bank of America, as they won’t have fee-free accounts anymore without a catch that I can’t meet. At first I was going to go with Discover, but I learned after I opened my account with them and had sent off most of my money from BofA via Zelle, that Discover isn’t partnered with them. D’oh! So I switched to Ally instead. That was just today, so I still need to move my direct deposit away from BofA, and close my account with them. It has a whole 26 cents in there right now. While it is sad to close an account I’ve had for a while, I will find humor in them having to hand me a quarter and a penny when I go in to close it.
We bought a Litter Robot for our kitties. It took a few days, but our oldest cat took to it fairly well. The youngest one isn’t adapting so well. He’s always been a little skittish (we can go “PSST!” and make a sudden movement with a foot, and he will jump like he was just bitten by a snake), but he’s pretty much terrified of it. About a week in he did finally get around to using it a few times after we took away their old (full) boxes, but at some point not long after that, he was scared of it again and started to avoid it at all costs. He would only use it if I put him in it myself, and afterward would promptly run out of it like he was on fire. We had to bring back one of the old boxes and go so far as to put it in the laundry room, well away from the Litter Robot before he would even use that one. Near the Litter Robot – no interest. Laundry room on the opposite side of the house, same box, used it within a few minutes. I’m hoping after the LR has been around for a few months he may get used to it and starting using it again.
(edited to add) Oops, published before I was done writing. Was distracted by looking for the image I used here, and then by the error message I was getting trying to upload it.
Well, I was just about done so I guess that’s not really a big deal.
